As a faculty member at CMU since 1972 and a Department Chair for 20 years, I am honored to be the director of the McNair program. Coming from an interdisciplinary background and having worked in higher education, I am very excited to receive the opportunity to work with the McNair Scholars Program at CMU. Besides the continuous challenge of working to enhance the program, my favorite part of the job is working closely with our scholars! I enjoy seeing them grow, encouraging them to think about things in a new light and helping them to set and achieve goals for themselves that perhaps they might not have considered otherwise. This personal interaction is hugely satisfying and I look forward to working with and inspiring future scholars!

I have recently joined the McNair Scholars Program as the program assistant. Having graduated from CMU with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, I am happy to once again be involved with the students and to help our scholars in any way I can. My hobbies include horseback riding and any outdoor activities. I look forward to meeting many new scholars and watching them achieve their dreams.
