Prospective Scholars - Announcements
Greetings and welcome to the McNair Scholars Program!
We are interested in meeting you and learning whether your goals and background may be a good fit for the McNair Program. Please feel free to stop by the office to meet with staff and learn more about the program at any time. We are currently recruiting our next group of scholars and our fall application deadline is October 19.
Please attend our upcoming information meeting on Tuesday, September 15 at 5 p.m. in the Lake Michigan room at the UC. Meet current scholars and find out how McNair can help you get your Ph.D. for free!
We encourage you to take advantage of our Individualized Counseling Sessions on Grad School for Prospective Scholars that you may schedule with us at any time at the McNair office in Foust 148. Call Jeanine at 774-1364 to set up an appointment. We will provide you with important information on graduate school, learn about your particular interests and career plans and offer advice on how to best prepare for your graduate career.
The McNair Program supports its scholars in numerous ways, but our ultimate goal is to help students get into Ph.D. programs. Scholars engage in research and prepare themselves for the graduate application process while participating in the program. Check out Why Pursue a Ph.D. for more information about doctoral education and how it might be able to benefit you.
Be sure to confirm your eligibility before submitting an application. Please keep in mind that we work with low income and first generation college students and/or students considered underrepresented in graduate education. See Program Eligibility for more details.
